The Green Country Hamfest Committee is proud to announce the selection of Miss Sharmai Springer of San Angelo, Texas as the GREEN COUNTRY HAMFEST MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP recipient for 2009. Sharmai will receive a $1000.00 scholarship.
Sharmai graduated from Wagoner High School in 2009 and is attending Angelo State University as a freshman pursuing a degree in Nursing. Sharmai holds a Technician Class Amateur Radio License (KF5ACC) and has been an active member and volunteer in the Wagoner Windtalkers Amateur Radio Club.

The scholarship, established in 1993 by the Green Country Hamfest, Inc.
is to be awarded annually in the fall. The scholarship is in memories of Pat Lane - K5QOP,
William Moore - KF5DL and Charlie Kays - AB5EF who contributed so much during their lifetimes
to the teaching and promotion of the hobby of amateur radio.
The scholarship is intended exclusively for educational use, to provide assistance with
the costs of tuition, books, room, board, and associated fees essential to the advanced education
of the recipient. Currently the scholarship is only for on-site, in-class courses.
Mail, Internet or TV courses are not considered.
Deadline for the scholarship application is October 30.
